Ashdown School Superintendent Mike Walker
encourages the district employees to "Cowboy Up" at the annual School District
Breakfast and Staff Meeting on Thurs., Aug. 13 in the AHS cafeteria. Walker
used the theme "Cowboy Ethics" as an analogy for school philosophy, including
the the ten rules of The Code of the West. Those rules include: (1) Live each
day with courage, (2) Take pride in your work, (3) Always finish what you
start, (4) Do what has to be done, (5) Be tough, but fair, (6) When you make a
promise, keep it, (7) Ride for the brand, (8) Talk less and say more, (9)
Remember that some things aren't for sale, and (10) Know where to draw the
line.
Kim Joyce (in front) and
other personnel of the Ashdown School District Central Office enjoy breakfast
as they welcome faculty and staff members with important information for the
upcoming school year.

Faculty and staff from all six campuses gathered
in the AHS cafeteria on Thurs., Aug 13, for a district-wide breakfast meeting
to kick off the new school year. During breakfast and social time, scenes
from classic Western movies and tv shows, such as High Noon, Bonanza and Wagon
Train, played on the screen behind to introduce the theme "Code of the West."
