Ashdown Panther Softball Players Receive Post Season Honors

Ashdown Panther Softball players senior Morgan Thrash and junior Shalie Day have been awarded All-State honors at the conclusion of the 2009 season.  Day was also named All-State Tournament.

Both Thrash and Day, along with sophomore Sydney Tipton, have also been named 4-A All-Conference players.  Senior Amanda Chriestenson and sophomore Lexius Winfrey were named All-Conference Honorable Mention.

 Other post season honors for the Panthers include seniors Thrash and Chriestenson  named as All-Star Seniors Nominees and Day selected to play in the State Junior Classic, with junior Shaina Kirby named as an alternate.

 The Panthers were 2009 District Champs and runner-up in Regionals.  They ended their season this year in the quarterfinals of the state tournament with a 3-2 loss to Dardanelle, who went on to win the state title.

Arkansas All-State selections from the Ashdown Panther Softball team are  senior Morgan Thrash (on left) and junior Shalie Day.  Day was also named All-State Tournament and selected to play in the Junior Classic this summer.  Thrash is a  nominee for the State All-Star Seniors Game.
